5 Eyewitness News shared the story of McKenna Ahrenholz who is 12 years old and fighting to give a voice to the many children in the state’s child protection system. Supporting her fight is the Children’s Law Center (CLC) of Minnesota, an organization that provides legal representation to children. McKenna’s story is all too familiar and it is saddening to hear that no lawmaker has made a move to fix the law that provides only certain children the right to representation rather than all of them. We are encouraged by the work of CLC and hope that someday their work will extend across the state, providing that voice to each and every child.
