Jordan is a Permanency Specialist with both a background and a passion for working with diverse children and families both in and outside of the United States. She received her BA in Child Psychology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities before returning to achieve her Master’s degree in Social Work as a Title IV-fellow, specializing in Child Welfare with a boost in Clinical Mental Health. Prior to this, Jordan worked full time as a Youth and Family Advocate doing crisis work and case management at Tubman, an emergency shelter that primarily works with survivors of domestic violence. Jordan also has experience working with youth in schools and therapeutic settings. She is a strong advocate for decreasing the Opportunity Gap, racial disparities, and overrepresentation of children and families of color in the Child Protection system in Minnesota.
In her free time, Jordan enjoys exploring different restaurants and trails in MN, baking/cooking, listening to music, traveling when possible, and spending time with her friends and family.
As the newest Ampersand team member, Jordan is excited and ready to work with the strengths and realities youth, kin, and resource families bring and experience on their journey towards adoption.
