Lala (AKA Leilani) is often described as “funny”, “outgoing”, “curious”, and “caring” by adults in their life. Lala enjoys creating art, making TikToks, reading, and writing lyrics. Lala enjoys watching the Minnesota Vikings (her favorite player is Justin Jefferson because of how fast he is!). Lala enjoys caring for his bunny, Pixel, and looks forward to being able to live with her again! Lala enjoys a wide variety of food, but reports her favorite is empanadas. Lala is eager to engage in conversation and connect with others. She enjoys joking with those around her and making others smile.
Lala is excited to be adopted! They would prefer a QPOC (Queer People of Color) family that lives in an urban or suburban setting. Lala is leftist in her political ideals and would prefer a family that shares these values. It is also very important for Lala to be able to bring their bunny, Pixel, to live with them at their adoptive home. The right family for Lala will help him connect with his Indigenous and Latino backgrounds, including attending cultural events (e.g., powwows) and engaging in cultural practices (e.g., smudging). Lala will do best in a family that is able to provide structure, predictability, consistency, and the unconditional love and support they deserve.
That every young person whose life has been disrupted by trauma and subsequent child welfare intervention will be restored to a safe, permanent family with an urgency that honors the brevity of childhood.
