Meet Ben (11)
If you ever have the privilege of meeting Ben, you will eventually be taken on an imaginative journey. Ben is very creative and is also quite talkative: creating a perfect opportunity to have silly conversations and think outside the box. Ben has a quirky sense of humor and is gifted with a quick wit. But as funny as he is, he is also capable of giving thoughtful consideration to questions such as “if you could be any animal, what would you be?” Animals “in real life” are of great interest to Ben; just not animals “that are venomous or can hurt you.” Ben wanted to make sure to let his future family know his other interests include “Barbies, dresses, high-heels that fit, and rainbows.” He is also a formidable competitor in board games. He lists his top three activities as “swimming, video games, and visiting grandparents.”
A Family for Ben
“I like to be cared for, loved and protected,” are Ben’s simple hopes for characteristics of a future family. He definitely would appreciate a family that was “nice—not mean.” A family for Ben would need to be loving, patient, and provide him with lots of attention. He does well with a limited amount of structure and needs to know what he is doing ahead of time. Ben would do well in a variety of family compositions, including having older siblings. However, whatever the family makeup, Ben wants a family that will be supportive of him playing with “girl stuff.” Ben has a close relationship with his grandparents and would need an adoptive family to support him in continuing to visit with them. Ben needs space to dream, but he also likes going out into the community and would enjoy a family that was fun, engaging and active.
