Who is Brandon?
Brandon describes himself as a caring and respectful teen who values his independence and has a strong ability to advocate for himself and for others. He can be a leader with his peers when given some guidance and the opportunity. His two favorite words are resilience and optimism, because he names these as two of his biggest strengths. Brandon is pretty open-minded and is able to have a conversation with many different types of people. He would appreciate having people around him who support him in his goals and share some of his interests. Brandon can be a very good student and definitely enjoys spending time with his peers at school like many 16 year olds! He likes to listen to music and to stay active by playing basketball and football.
A Family for Brandon
Brandon is open to a 1 or 2 parent household of any gender and would be open to living in a city environment. He would do well in a structured and supportive family setting where he is the youngest or the only child in a home. That being said, Brandon has shared that he would also like a less traditional caregiver-child relationship with clear expectations. Brandon enjoys having time and space to himself, but he would enjoy spending time with family over a meal to regroup and check in. Trust is crucial to Brandon. He appreciates honesty and puts efforts into his relationships where that trust has been established. Brandon’s birth family is important to him, and he will need to able to maintain contact with his brother.
