Who is Madalyn?

Madalyn (Mady) is a friendly, helpful, smart, and caring preteen who is very curious about the world around her and the people in it!  Mady not only dreams for herself but for her loved ones which is a true testament to who she is and can be as an individual.  Mady is a Harry Potter fan and is not afraid to own it!  Mady also enjoys reading graphic novels, watching TV (K.C. Undercover) and Youtube videos, working on coloring art projects or with play-doh, being outside, and listening to musical artists like Lizzo, Justin Bieber, and Kelsea Ballerini.  Mady does well with 1:1 attention with adults and enjoys the independence in her alone time, but she also really enjoys forming relationships and being social with her peers.  Mady is someone who truly wants to see all that the world around her has to offer-that includes different kinds of people, food, nature, animals and more, and she is excited to share these dreams with a family!

A Family for Madalyn

Mady needs an active, very experienced, and patient family who is able to give her consistent structure and clear expectations while also being able to support her in her own emotional awareness and learning.  She is very eager to be adopted!  Mady has shared that to her, permanency means that she “will move to one place, and she will stay there”.  Mady’s birth family is important to her, and it would be important that a family allows her to stay connected with her birth relatives and siblings.  Mady would like to be adopted by a family with one or two parents of any gender who either have space for her to play outside or who have access to an outdoors space for her to enjoy.  Ultimately, Mady has said that this doesn’t really matter to her as long as she is loved, they understand her, and they understand what she needs.  Mady would like to have female and male siblings (it is preferred for her to be the youngest) in the home, but she would also do well with being the only child in a home as long as she has regular opportunities for peer friendships.  Mady loves spending time with animals of all kinds!  She listed horses, pigs, cows, cats, dogs, chickens, bunnies, snakes, lizards, and hamsters as just some of the animals she would enjoy living with (and help with).  Mady is so excited to spend time outside, go to restaurants, and make memories with a family who appreciates her as her genuine self!

Our Vision

That every young person whose life has been disrupted by trauma and subsequent child welfare intervention will be restored to a safe, permanent family with an urgency that honors the brevity of childhood.
