Meet Amanda Abrahamson
Chair
Amanda (she/her) was drawn to serve on the Ampersand Families' board because she believes all youth deserve to be with families that love them and caring for the next generation is important for the future of our community.
More About Amanda Abrahamson
Amanda has over 23 years experience working with families in Minnesota’s Health & Human Services systems. Amanda’s experience started in child protection where she worked as a Case Aid, supervised home visits, and made recommendations to the court regarding children’s best interest. Amanda saw the value of kin stepping in when parents were unable to maintain their rights. Amanda has worked for Ramsey County Workforce Solutions for over 17 years as an Employment Guidance Counselor and assists families with finding employment, training, education and resources to help families with their goals.
Amanda Graduated form University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor’s of Social Work and has been a Licensed Social Worker since 2003. Amanda has also served on the MSSA Board and was part of the conference committee for over 8 years.
