Family Department Supervisor
She/Her
Lynda Yang-Gungsing brings 10+ years of experience working with youth in education and case management, with a deep commitment to partnering with families to support young people. Her career began as an educator in Saint Paul Public Schools, Wilder Foundation, and Hmong charter schools, where she worked closely with students and partnered with parents from diverse backgrounds, meeting them where they are and fostering their growth. Lynda has extensive experience providing case management services and developing programming for both youth and parents in Hennepin County through a youth-led community agency. She is certified in Innocent Classrooms and STARS from MN Peace Building Leadership Institute, reinforcing her dedication to strength-based, trauma-informed, and youth-centered approaches. She is eager to expand her expertise in licensing families and guiding them through the process of providing stable, supportive environments for youth, with a keen understanding of systems work and family permanency.
Outside of work, Lynda enjoys hiking, traveling with her family, discovering great food, and reading sci-fi and fantasy novels. She hopes to explore new creative pursuits like painting, dancing, and singing. Enneagram is her jam, just ask her about it!
Lynda believes that stability and support are essential for healing and growth. The strongest buffer for trauma is relationships, and every child deserves to be seen, noticed, valued, and loved. Whether through teaching or supporting permanency, she is committed to helping youth and families build secure, lasting connections and inclusive, empowering spaces. We are wired for connection—belonging counts, and belonging matters.
