Ampersand Families
Michelle graduated with her BSW from Augsburg University in 2019 and is currently a Master of Social Work student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Her concentration is Families and Children, and as a Title IV-E fellow she is committed to serving youth, families, and others involved in the complex child welfare system. Prior to Ampersand Families, Michelle gained experience as a Child Protection Investigations intern and as a Children’s Mental Health Case Manager. She is thrilled to join the Ampersand Families team, where she will actively contribute to their mission of breaking down barriers in the child welfare system.
Michelle really enjoys advocating for and working with youth and their families to create lasting family connections. She is dedicated to supporting BIPOC communities and working from an informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens. As an avid learner, she seeks to continuously learn from her role, peers, communities, and the natural world around her.
Outside of work, Michelle loves to spend time with her loved ones and 3 dogs. She also enjoys thrifting, eating delicious food, listening to music, and traveling. Her favorite season is Fall, where she can dress in layers, curl up with a scary book or movie, and enjoy the gloomy weather.
