Youth Program Director
She/Her
Amber earned her Master of Social Work degree from St. Cloud State University and is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Minnesota. Her professional career to this point has been primarily within different areas of child welfare including child protection, foster care, and adoption. She began her work with Ampersand Families as a Permanency Specialist and is now the Youth Services Program Director and is proud to be part of an organization like Ampersand Families that values all youth, all types of families, and employees.
When not at work, Amber enjoys spending time with her partner and two children. Together, they enjoy outdoor activities like going for walks, spending time in the water and snow (depending on the season) and visiting different locations around Minnesota. Amber also enjoys reading, gardening, and baking.
Amber believes strongly in the value of centering youth in all we do and the importance of relative and kin connections throughout life. Working at Ampersand Families, I get to see how impactful it is for youth to have a voice in the huge decisions that are made about their lives. The ways we are able to support youth to use their voice, learn who and what is important to them, and provide long-lasting support to those around them is wonderful to witness and be part of.
