She/Her
Ellen’s educational background is in Biology (B.S) and Experiential Education (M.Ed) which led her to working as an Outdoor Expedition Guide with Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families to bring youth involved with the State’s child welfare system into nature to connect and decompress. Here, Ellen quickly found her passion for supporting youth and families as they navigate the child welfare system.
After five years of working with youth outdoors, Ellen is excited to continue her work in supporting youth at Ampersand in her role as a Youth Permanency Specialist. Ellen believes youth know themselves and their goals best. She believes strongly that youth should be centered in their care and is excited to amplify the voices of youth at Ampersand.
Outside of work, Ellen still gets into the backcountry and loves canoeing on rivers and lakes, rock climbing, and bringing her dog Avery along for it all.
