Youth Permanency Specialist
She/Her
Jamie graduated in 2016 from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in both social work and family services with minors in gerontology and coaching. She is a licensed BSW in the state of Minnesota. Upon graduation Jamie started her career in the field as a case manager doing skills work with youth with mental health diagnosis and traumatic brain injuries. She then moved up to the Twin Cities and was a Family Life Coach for single mothers experiencing homelessness with their children. Her role was to support finding housing, finances, post-secondary education, childcare, transportation, and mental health. Most recently, before Ampersand, Jamie worked with youth in a level IV day treatment program supporting mental health, social emotional life skills, and recreational therapy in group settings.
Outside of work, Jamie is a huge Packers fan! Go Pack Go! She enjoys being an Auntie, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out with her dog and 2 kitties. Jamie also coaches high school basketball and track & field. She also loves spending time with her partner, traveling and exploring new fun things in the Twin Cities!
Working with youth in a way that gives them autonomy and self-determination is something Jamie is passionate about. Jamie’s goal is to connect in a genuine way that allows others to feel that they can start to remove their own barriers and work towards their goals of permanency. Her approach is to be authentic, fun and focus on strengths on the individual to help let those strengths shine!
