Kirsten Mahowald

Kirsten earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the team at Ampersand Families, she was a Guardian ad Litem for the 10th judicial district, was a case manager for an adolescent day treatment program, and was a social work case manager for Dakota County. Kirsten is a previously licensed foster provider and her two children joined her family through adoption.

Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys art, crafting, singing, kayaking, and hanging out with her family. Kirsten is passionate about keeping kids connected to their family and kin. She is also passionate about walking alongside families in a way that provides honor, dignity, respect, and empowerment for everyone involved and is excited to be a part of a team that shares these values.
