Mike Peterson

Mike joined Ampersand Families in July 2024. Since graduating from Luther College with a B.A. in Religion, Mike has worked in a wide variety of nonprofits, managing both offices and warehouses, with a primary focus on operational support. In his work, Mike has taken on many different roles, gaining experience in bookkeeping, inventory management, shipping/receiving, and human resources.

Mike lives with his partner and their 2 guinea pigs. Outside of work, Mike is an avid weightlifter and runner, and so can usually be found at the gym. He also enjoys reading, board games, video games, and watching any sport available.

Mike is passionate about systems change work, and about Ampersand’s commitment to addressing disparities within Minnesota’s child welfare system, while working with youth and families to navigate the system that is in place today.
