Tyler Frazier

Tyler comes from a diverse background consisting of retail management and nonprofit program coordination and outreach. Prior to joining Ampersand Families, Tyler was the Senior Program Coordinator for Foundation Communities, a nonprofit in Austin, TX, that supported community members to enroll in and use affordable health insurance programs through the Affordable Care Act. This work cemented Tyler’s passion for helping others live healthy and successful lives and confronting the disparities within the healthcare system. He witnessed firsthand how outdated, biased, and harmful systems can negatively impact children and families in desperate need of medical care. With his curious nature and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Tyler seeks to address inequities and promote positive change within systems. Tyler has extensive experience working with those facing the greatest barriers—including families living on low-incomes, recent immigrants, and folks who suffer from substance use disorder.

Tyler is excited to apply his professional and lived experience in his role as Program Administrative Specialist to help bring belonging, dignity, and hope to the youth and families of Ampersand.

While he isn’t at work, Tyler enjoys being outdoors, whether that’s cycling, swimming, or behind the BBQ pit. As a recent Texas transplant, Tyler is excited to take advantage of the four seasons here in Minnesota by embracing winter sports and eating apple cider donuts in the fall. He also loves to travel, play music, and nag his friends with dad jokes and puns.
