Senior Kin Link Specialist
They/Them
Miles joined Ampersand Families in July of 2022. They graduated from Winona State University in 2019 with a degree in social work and a minor in psychology. In the spring of 2023, they completed training to facilitate Family Group Decision Meetings to support relatives in planning for the well-being of the children in their networks. Prior to Ampersand Families, Miles was a case manager for Home and Community Based Services waivers. They also have experience working as a child-focused adoption recruiter for the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program and supported the adoption and permanency team at Winona County as a case aide.
Miles is passionate about keeping children and youth connected to their families and kin and is proud to be able to support these relationships as soon as a child enters foster care. They also love supporting LGBTQ+ youth in their identity exploration and enjoy encouraging their caregivers to understand and value these aspects of the young people in their lives.
Outside of work, Miles likes painting, walking around the lakes, and exploring the Twin Cities’ many vintage and thrift shops with their friends.
