Family Support & Education Specialist
She/Her
Mina joined Ampersand Families in June 2023. She graduated from Augsburg University with a BS in Social Work and a minor in Spanish, and she is a Licensed Social Worker in Minnesota. She has experience working with immigrant and refugee youth giving life skills workshops and facilitating growth and healing through art. She has also worked at a permanent housing site for people with chronic substance use disorder and at a private high school in Mexico for one semester.
In her free time, Mina loves reading a good book with a cup of hot chocolate or iced coffee. She also likes finding new places to get bubble tea, baking, and exploring local events with her friends. On summer and fall weekends she volunteers at the Mill City Farmers Market with the program Greens for Good, collecting unsold produce and redistributing it to low-income community members.
As an international transracial adoptee herself, Mina is passionate about working with adoptive parents and supporting them so that they can support their youth. She strongly values learning and loves to share her knowledge with others, so one of her favorite parts of her role at Ampersand Families is providing training to families about transracial adoption. She is excited to be part of a work environment that supports her efforts in educational advocacy.
