Sophia is a sweet, empathic, & caring teenager to be around. She has a big heart and not afraid to express these feelings. Sophia has a smile that could light up a room. She loves all things ‘girly’ – getting her nails done, ‘playing’ in make-up, shopping, etc. Sophia does not mind ‘getting her hands dirty’ – she is also active in sports. Sophia has played on volleyball & softball teams. She is interested in farm work [more petting cows & playing with horses], going to the lake & sporting events. Sophia al- so enjoys painting & drawing.
A family for Sophia (14)...
Sophia needs a parent(s) who is willing to work with and love her through her ups and downs and have experience with children who have experienced a lot of trauma. The family would need to have an understanding of her mental health needs and barriers associated with this, especially around attachment. She would thrive in a small family setting that is structured. A family that is able to provide structure for Sophia would be very beneficial to her mental health and behavioral needs. Sophia has a relation- ship with her biological family so, it is important that Sophia’s prospective family will be supportive of her keeping in contact (maintaining her relationship) with her biological family and friends.
