Empowered Gala
We are thrilled to announce that Ampersand Families will be featured on Public Television this fall! Produced by the Empowered by Meg Ryan documentary program, Ampersand Families’ mission will reach a nationwide audience. And with special permission, we can’t wait to show a VIP sneak peek at the Gala this year!
The documentary short dives into the disparities and disproportionate impacts of Minnesota’s Child Welfare System. Highlighting the urgent need for safe, permanent support for youth and Ampersand Families’ work with teens and adoptive-ready families. Foster Advocates joins us, sharing perspective from their recent Promise Report on what communities and agencies truly owe Fosters.
Past Ampersand Youth, Cora Kirsch, also outlines the importance of connections to relatives, kin, community, and culture for older youth. Reflecting on her personal foster experience and now as a parent herself, Cora adds how personally impactful these connections are.
