Al is a founding member of the Ampersand Families Board of Directors and took on a staff role in 2017. Prior to joining the staff, Al was Finance & Operations Director for Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery for 19 years and has been in not-for-profit accounting since 1988.
Al has a passion for child welfare. Working in a support role at the Crisis Nursey, the goal was to prevent children from entering the child welfare system. Now Al supports Ampersand Families in working to return kids in foster care to safe, loving families.
Al lives with his wife, Mary; dog, Mikko; cat, Riley; and parrot, Hamlet. He loves cooking, music, hockey and the great outdoors.
